PS3 DualShock 3 controller differs from the previous Sixaxis controller by the rumbling vibration function. Some issues that appear on the DualShock 3 Controller are easily remedied using simple troubleshooting methods, others require a bit more finesse (or for a replacement controller).

The following are some tips for troubleshooting your DualShock 3 Controller.

1. Synchronization

The DualShock 3 controllers must be synchronized with your PS3 console before you can use them to control the system. Generally, you only have to synchronize the DualShock 3 controller once, after purchasing it or during your initial system setup. Connect the DualShock 3 controller using the USB cable included with your PS3 console. Next, press the center “PS” button on the DualShock 3 controller. The red indicator lights on the controller will flash briefly, then light up solidly. When they are finished flashing, the synchronization is complete.

2. Enable Vibration

The DualShock 3 controller has vibration, but only with compatible games. You will need to enable the vibration feature for it to work with compatible games. Check the game’s packaging to find out whether it’s compatible with this feature. Vibration must be enabled in-game in order to work. Press the “PS” button the controller and access the menu for “Controller Settings.” Once on this menu, make sure the “Vibration Function” option is turned to “On.” If it is in the off position, your controller will not vibrate even if you’re playing a game that supports this feature.

3. Battery Recharging

Check the charge level on the PS3 home menu or by pressing the “PS” button on the controller. If your controller can not get charged, make sure that the PS3 is powered on when your DualShock 3 controller is connected to a USB port. The PS3 will not charge a controller when it is powered off, so either keep the controller connected while playing games or leave the console running to recharge your controller (If the internal battery inside the DualShock 3 Controller won’t charge even when the system is on, you may need to purchase a replacement controller).

If you do not want to leave the system powered on, a PC will charge the DualShock 3 controller while in sleep mode. Plug your DualShock 3 controller into a USB port on your PC. If the four red lights on its top begin to blink, your DualShock 3 controller is charging.

4. Resetting

If your DualShock 3 controllers are not recognized by the PS3 console, resetting the controller is an option to help repair this issue. Flip the DualShock 3 controller so the buttons are facing your lap; on the back of the DualShock 3 controller, a “Reset” button is placed near the “L2″ button. The reset button needs to be pressed using a small object, like the head of a needle or a paper clip. Hold the “reset” button in for a few seconds. After that, the DualShock 3 controller will no longer be associated with the PS3 console. Re-sync the DualShock 3 controller before using it again.

The DualShock 3 Controller is an upgraded version of the Sixaxis controller for the Playstation 3, which includes all of the features of the Sixaxis controller, but also adds vibration funtion. Do you know that you can play video games on your PC using the DualShock 3 controller? It is similar to using any other third party USB controller on your PC. Just follow these steps and add the convenience of a DualShock 3 controller to your PC gaming experience.

Requirements:

a PC

MotioninJoy software package

Accompanying USB cable

a DualShock 3 controller

Procedure:

1. Download a third-party software package, such as MotioninJoy. The package should contain all the drivers and software needed to allow the DualShock 3 controller to run on the PC. Unzip the compressed files to install. After that, you can find the MotioninJoy option under “all Programs” in the start menu.

2. Plug the mini-USB end of the USB cable to your DualShock 3 controller while the other end to the PC.
3. Click on the “start”-“All Programs”-“MotioninJoy”-“Install USB driver”. Right click and use the “run as administrator” option, then the installation will begin automatically. A notepad will pop up and show you the install status.

4. Press the “PS” button to boot the DualShock 3 Controller at first (you will have to do so every time you turn off the PC or disconnect the USB cable).

5. Click on the “Start” menu-”Control Panel”-”Printers and Other Devices” -”Game Controllers” to begin test. The DualShock 3 Controller should be visible there. Right click the icon and select “Properties.” If your controller is responsive to your input, then the installation is successful. The analog sticks are not going to work just yet, don’t worry.

6.Go to “Start”-”All Programs”-”MotioninJoy”-”DS3 TOOL”. Here you can choose between 4 profiles and the vibration function.

* Digital Gamepad(Dpad, without joystick) Digital set up, Dpad works off of the X/Y axis. This is like the PS1 controller, works well for soccer games.
* Analog Gamepad1(POV,Joysticks)Dpad is set to POV/hat switch, the 2 analog sticks are set up on the X,Y, Z and RZ axes. This is like a PS2 controller and is currently the most used.
* Analog Gamepad2(POV,Joysticks,Analog Triggers)Dpad is set to POV/hat switch, the 2 analog sticks are set up on the X,Y, Z and RZ axes, L2 and R2 are also on an axis. This works well for racing games and is similar to the XBOX 360 controller.
* Analog Gamepad3(POV,Joysticks,Analog Triggers,Motion sensor) This is similar to Gamepad2 with the added effect of motion sensors. At the moment it’s not very practical.
* Emulate Xinput Imitates the XBOX 360 controller. Is currently greyed out because it’s still unusable.

7. Load a PC game with controller support. The DualShock 3 controller is fully functional within the game.

Note:

If you are using a 64-bit PC, you need to restart your PC at the beginning of installation. Hold F8 upon starup and select “Disable Driver Signature Enforcement”. This can prevent driver conflicts that can arise.

It’s strange that Vibration can not work on the game – the Prince of Persia 4 (PC version), maybe only the default Xbox 360 controller can support the vibration in this game, while the Grand Theft Auto 4 even can not play with the controller (patch needed).

An easier way to use a controller on a PC is to use an Xbox 360 controller, which Windows can identifies automatically.

The DualShock 3 controller runs on a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that is sealed into its housing and needs charged regularly. There are 3 ways to charge the DualShock 3 controller as follows.

1. To charge the Dualshock by the PS3 game console

Press the “Power” button on the PS3 console to turn the system on. A red light should illuminate on the front of the console to let you know it’s in standby mode.

Press the “PS Home” button on the DualShock 3 controller to turn the controller on.

Plug the standard USB end of the USB charging cable into the USB port on the PS3’s front.

Insert the mini-USB end of the USB cable into the mini-USB slot on the top of the DualShock 3 controller, and then the red lights on the front of DualShock 3 controller begin blinking. This means that the DualShock 3 controller is charging.

It needs several hours for the DualShock 3 controller to finish charging.

The DualShock controller completes charging when the red lights stop blinking.

Note：you can play games while PS3 are charging the DualShock 3 controller. Keep the peripheral temperature at around 10-30°C, or the charging of the DualShock 3 controller may become unstable; Make sure the PS3 console is on while charging, or the DualShock 3 controller can’t get charged.

2. To charge the DualShock 3 controller by hooking it up to a PC. Use the same way as above.

3. Buy a charger to charge DualShock 3 controller. It’s much easier for charging with a charger that you only need to plug one end of the charger into the wall outlet to charge the DualShock 3 controller independently.

Note: The advantage of the latter two methods is that you don’t need to turn the PS3 console on, which is really a high power electrical appliances.

The news about PSP cracked more and more recently. Following 6.20HEN running video, PSPGEN appeared run ISO on 6.20 homemade system video today, and the author of video is called “psp92230”.

psp92230 specially displayed small icons of SenseMe and Digital Comics in video to prove this is 6.20 system, and run ISO of “SpongeBob SquarePants” for everyone. However, the authors will not release cracking file currently to prevent Sony plugging the loopholes in system, and also will continue to perfert the opening of cracking system.

PSPGEN official did not make a statement on the authenticity of the video immediately, we shall wait for it with expect. Of course, as an ordinary player continue to show patience to wait for is more practical. Time will prove everything about video is true or not. If cracking is true, not only “Kingdom Hearts” is expected to run but also PSP 3000 and PSP Go users will be liberated. Because of this loophole on the official 6.20 system, this also means that a full range of PSP will also be cracked successfully.

Well-known game crack website PSPGEN.com reviewed five years history of PSP version cracking in home on January 24 this year, and pointed out the real reason about difficult to crack 6.20. At the end of full article “It is possible so just be patient” reignited people’s hope for PSP 6.20 firmware cracked.

Everything seems very obvious, SONY has never been appreciated and accepted any inventions in cracking world. On the contrary, Sony continued to fight against crack, eradicating crack force to ensure itself has technology leading. It is really an indisputable fact.

The virtual war between PSP crack forces and Sony has last 5 years and continued to today. Sony seems to change some strategies and gradually achieved victory in the war from a few months ago.

In the beginning, the main battlefield between sony engineers and hackers like the cat and mouse is official firmware release.Sony patches PSP vulnerabilities always by the new official firmware update and prevent the use of crack hackers. That is also avoiding the user’s PSP firmware switch to the homemade. It is also the reason why PSP has so many system firmware versions.

But this method can be said to be unsuccessful, especially with the appearance of the magical battery. PSP-1000 series and PSP-2000 with non-V3 motherboard have been free to use self-made firmware. Sony begun to change hardware structure of PSP from PSP-2000V3 to overcome this magic crack tools, from the new motherboard used in PSP-3000, it has been completely resistant to magic batteries and prevent the firmware load on the PSP.

Sony strategy was quite effective but underestimeted the ability of crack hackers. Cracking tool HEN from Davee turned out, homemade firmware with 5.03GEN for HEN running stable on PSP-3000 (Actually, there is 5.02HEN developed by Miriam but never announced).

We would like to thank team GEN groups and developer GENyUS for these works, they opened the crack door for PSP 3000 players.Unfortunately, PSP 3000 vulnerability only existed in the version of lower than 5.03 firmware, and only 5.03 firmware able to use stabilize currently.
The game developers have begun to launch an attack to the crack world in recent months, they began to use various means to stop the game run in the homemade firmware. These methods have blocked piratic also accidentally killed a lot of honset UMD player cost their money buy from game store at the same time. In fact, some hackers have been trying to make some patches or looking for some non-encrypted version such as Tekken 6, and spread ISO into the network, this is really illegal. Some players have to download the game which has patched and have to play one fake game that they have bought genuine.

With the return of team GEN member Yoshihiro, the new homemade firmware released, especially the arrival of 5.50GEN-D3 and 5.03GEN-C, these problem are swept away. We are also aware of that Yoshihiro brings a whole new life for homemade system 5.50GEN GENyU developed.

Therefore, Sony has started a new round of challenges and use another way which is more cautious and more effetive. We did not specially discuss this issue before, but now it is the time to explain everything.

Initially, Sony likely to add the secret security eavesdropping program (or interpolate spy in the crack world) to system firmware, and the most od crack vulnerabilities (including release and unrelease) have been repaired. We are doubting this movements for Sony can do successful large scale clean up work after 6.0 system firmware and beyond the other system, almost all of the vulnerabilities have not been spared. We are even more surprising is that some not yet published vulnerabilities existed from system firmware 2.0 also be completely blocked. This time ,Sony has not urgent to seeking doctor, their work indeed very efforts and very successful.

This news is true. You can still likely to bring down verison to 5.03 and let HEN program running if you can find a loophole. This possibility will always exist unless Sony replacing the new motherboard and refusing PSP which system version lower than 6.20 in the future. The method somewhat like the original 1.50 crack case. Therefore, the current PSP 3000 and PSP 2000 v3 players should be looking forward to emergence a system loophole can be demoted.

Why we never released homemade firmware 6.xxGEN? Because there is no need to upgrade from 5.50GEN-D to 6.xxGEN. It takes a long time to develop a fully functional homemade firmware. If we released homemade firmware 6.20GEN, we will do a lot of structural adjustment for players in order to ensure the stability of system is being upgrated. This wore is very arduous. In fact , as we said in the news before, we are more inclined to let everything go with the flow, rather than the majority developers re-develop their own procedures for new firmware.

Please keep in mind: ” It is possible so just be patient ”

Memory card helps you to save their progress in games, and there are several options for memory cards. Do you have full knowledge on them? In this article, I’d like to share what I know:

Internal Memory:The Nintendo Wii comes with built-in memory. You won’t need to buy a separate memory card. When playing a game, your progress will save right to the console.

SD Card for Portable Memory: If you bring your game to a friend’s house, you can use an SD memory card to save your progress. I’ll show you how to make it:
First: Turn on your Nintendo Wii and access the Data Management section of the console. From here you can add, copy, delete or otherwise update and modify the data stored on your Wii or in your SD card.
Second: Insert your SD card into the SD card slot on the front panelof the console. Note that it is safe to attach or remove the SD card while the Wii is running.
Third: Find and select the files in your Data Management pool that you wish to update to your SD card. This is done by highlighting the files using the directional pad or the Wiimote, and pressing A or the trigger.
Forth: Select the “Copy” command from the Data Management console, followed by the “Copy to SD Card” menu options.
Fifth: Back up your Virtual Console games to your SD card to make room for new ones. Simply select them as you would any other data and copy them using the procedures above.
Sixth: Save message board data to your SD card to make room for more communications. Many users send and receive messages frequently but want to save logs, so transferring them to the SD card allows you to keep logs as long as you want. The SD card will update in the order the messages were received, starting with the first.

GameCube Memory Cards: Since GameCube games can be played on the Nintendo Wii, you’ll need memory to save your games. GameCube games can’t be saved with the Nintendo Wii internal memory, so you’ll need an original GameCube memory card. It fits in a slot on the top of the Wii.

Extra Storage:The internal memory on the Wii is 512MB which is enough for most users. With lots of WiiWare or Virtual Console purchases, that memory can shrink fast. SD cards are good for freeing up memory on the console.

Do you know how to connect a Nintendo Wii to HD TV? In this article, I will show you how to make it:

First: Power off the television and Nintendo Wii.Turn the Nintendo Wii around and insert the rectangular output connection of the RCA cable into the Wii output jack called “AV Multi Out.” This sends the signal from the Wii to the television.

Second: Locate the RCA jacks on the back on the television. There may be more than one set of jacks on the back of the television.

Third: Insert the components to the RCA jack. Find the same color to insert, do not make a mistake. If there is no color coordination for the input jack, the red goes to audio right in, white goes to audio left in, and the yellow goes to video in.

Forth: Power on the television and Wii. Place the television in Component Mode. This can be accomplished on the remote using the “Components” button. Pressing it once will place the television in the first mode. This should be the Wii unless there is another game system or component. If it isn’t, press it until the Wii logo and landing page appear on the television.

Sixth: Test your job. If it does not work well, repeat the process and check the connections to be sure they are inserted completely.
