Memory card helps you to save their progress in games, and there are several options for memory cards. Do you have full knowledge on them? In this article, I’d like to share what I know:
Internal Memory:The Nintendo Wii comes with built-in memory. You won’t need to buy a separate memory card. When playing a game, your progress will save right to the console.
SD Card for Portable Memory: If you bring your game to a friend’s house, you can use an SD memory card to save your progress. I’ll show you how to make it:
First: Turn on your Nintendo Wii and access the Data Management section of the console. From here you can add, copy, delete or otherwise update and modify the data stored on your Wii or in your SD card.
Second: Insert your SD card into the SD card slot on the front panelof the console. Note that it is safe to attach or remove the SD card while the Wii is running.
Third: Find and select the files in your Data Management pool that you wish to update to your SD card. This is done by highlighting the files using the directional pad or the Wiimote, and pressing A or the trigger.
Forth: Select the “Copy” command from the Data Management console, followed by the “Copy to SD Card” menu options.
Fifth: Back up your Virtual Console games to your SD card to make room for new ones. Simply select them as you would any other data and copy them using the procedures above.
Sixth: Save message board data to your SD card to make room for more communications. Many users send and receive messages frequently but want to save logs, so transferring them to the SD card allows you to keep logs as long as you want. The SD card will update in the order the messages were received, starting with the first.
GameCube Memory Cards: Since GameCube games can be played on the Nintendo Wii, you’ll need memory to save your games. GameCube games can’t be saved with the Nintendo Wii internal memory, so you’ll need an original GameCube memory card. It fits in a slot on the top of the Wii.
Extra Storage:The internal memory on the Wii is 512MB which is enough for most users. With lots of WiiWare or Virtual Console purchases, that memory can shrink fast. SD cards are good for freeing up memory on the console.
